At Akıncı Law Office, we have extensive experience of 35 years in the field of International Arbitration. With the strategic approach of our solution-oriented team, we have successfully represented our clients in numerous cases conducted under international arbitration rules including ICC, ICSID, LCIA, SIAC and UNCITRAL.
We participate in various arbitration proceedings with different scopes and characteristics, including local and international construction projects, energy projects, investment disputes, company mergers, GSM licenses, natural gas storage, and SCADA systems. Our office has a broad range of expertise in representing both individuals and legal entities, as well as states and state institutions, before arbitral tribunals.
Under the leadership of our team’s manager, Prof. Ziya Akıncı, who is also the President of the Istanbul Arbitration Centre and served on the ICC International Court of Arbitration from 2006 to 2015, we have collectively gained the necessary skills to successfully handle a range of different cases. Prof. Akıncı has been involved in over 300 arbitration proceedings as an arbitrator, expert witness, consultant, and counsel. Furthermore, Prof. Akıncı has been recognized as a “thought leader” and “global leader” in the field of arbitration by Who’s Who Legal and has been appointed to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators by the Republic of Turkey. He is also the author of the most significant work on arbitration in Turkey, the book “International Arbitration.”
Through this invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience, our team continues to evaluate cases from both an arbitrator’s and counsel’s perspective, providing creative solutions and strategic action plans.
As a testament to our office’s experience and success in international arbitration, we have consistently ranked among the world’s top 100 Law Firms in the Global Arbitration Review since 2010. Additionally, we have been recommended by Legal500 and Chambers and Partners as one of the leading law firms in the field of dispute resolution.
